Meet Rebekah, BVT’s Virtual Executive Assistant! And while she is virtual, we are not talking AI. Rebekah - or Bek as we know her, is a real person; a worker, a baker, a party planner and a mum to name just a few dimensions of this dynamo woman. Bek embodies BVT’s value of innovation. Becoming a mum and with a husband working unpredictable hours, getting a 9-5 office job was not an option. Having spent 7 years as the Executive Assistant for Head of Departments across 3 hospitals and loving the challenge of her work, Bek was keen to get back to doing what she enjoyed. After hearing about Virtual Assistant work, Bek did her research, signed up for a course and set up her own business. With a healthy list of previous employers who jumped at the chance to have Bek back, it didn’t take long to get the business successfully underway. Enter Ceinwen (our CEO). For those who know her, it’ll come as no surprise that in looking for an Executive Assistant, she tapped into a women’s network and placed an ad on a working mum’s website. One phone call and interview later, the two of them hit it off and Bek began her role as EA. Initially this was at Ceinwen’s consultancy company, and then when Ceinwen took on a CE role at BVT, she asked Bek to come too. With all the hallmarks of an exceptional Executive Assistant – the highest levels of organisation, bundles of initiative, high attention to detail (and being a lovely person), there’s no surprise Bek has a following. Bek takes her work to a whole new dimension, turning organisation into an art form. Diary management, for example, is something she feels passionate about - getting the right balance of meetings, breaks, uninterrupted time and reminders and carefully blended them together. The result is a boss who can power through an extraordinary amount of work because the scheduling details are considered down to the finest detail. Often starting work before the sunrises, finishing work after the kids are in bed at night and never letting a call or email go missed in between might sound daunting to many of us, but Bek loves her job and enjoys the moment she sits down at the computer to do her work. When she’s not at work, Bek loves to create birthday cakes – believe us, these are next level! In fact, after recently making one for Ceinwen, Ceinwen’s daughter sacked her from birthday cake duty and appointed Bek. When you see the result, you can see why (sorry Ceinwen). Bek’s creative side also includes party planning and decoration, the results are more than Pinterest worthy. Her pride in her work and her search for constant improvement are evident in everything she does, and she’s great to have around (even if it is mostly in a virtual sense!) -  BVT are VERY lucky to have Bek on the team.
